[/et_pb_slide][et_pb_slide heading=”History” _builder_version=”4.16″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_transition=”on”]Long Beach Lodge No. 327 F&AM originally begun in 1896 and occupied a space in a bank building on Pine Avenue in downtown Long Beach when the City of Long Beach was a small town by the beach. Since then, several thousand good men have come through its doors and incorporated the teachings of Freemasonry into their lives, thus bettering themselves and our society.
Just over 60 years ago the Lodge moved into its current location on Locust Ave. Built by men of vision, our current Masonic Facility has served numerous Lodges, and other Masonic affiliated groups with beauty and distinction.
Today, Long Beach Lodge has a membership just under three hundred and fifty. It meets the first Thursday evening of the month for its Stated Meeting and the subsequent Thursdays evenings are for degrees and social functions.
In addition to being part of an ancient fraternity as a brotherhood, we participate in a variety of community support efforts throughout the year. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of meaningful work and powerful moments: OSI at Downey United, the Temple Board transition, the Grand Lodge Officers Reception, the Scottish Rite Cap & Ring Ceremony for Bro. Wheeler, and preparations for our upcoming Master Mason conferrals—possibly three before the end of April. And of course, our Lodge fundraiser, “Live Beyond AverAge,” lead by Wor. Dave Romero.
To every brother who invested time, energy, and heart into these efforts—thank you. Your dedication is felt, and it strengthens our Lodge.
Over the past few months, I’ve appreciated the strong turnout at our events and the time spent with our brothers and their families. Meeting your spouses and seeing families join us reminds me that our Lodge isn’t just a place where we gather—it’s a place where we build lasting bonds. We will continue creating opportunities that include and strengthen our families. Remember: spouses and family are always welcome at our Stated Meeting dinners, followed by Bingo while the Lodge is at labor. Their involvement adds to the life and spirit of our Lodge, and I encourage you to bring them out whenever you can.
As we move into March, the pace will ease slightly as I step away to pursue a long‑awaited personal dream. After our Stated Meeting, we will go dark until the March 19th practice.
As I will be in the Bay Islands of Honduras, on Utila, chasing whale sharks, hoping for an opportunity to snorkel alongside them, and enjoying scuba diving in the warm, clear Caribbean waters.
Lodge Business: We are seeking brothers willing to step forward into committee roles that make a meaningful impact:
Prospect Management: Staying connected with prospects—inviting them to dinner, answering questions, helping them feel welcome.
Retention Committee: Supporting our senior brothers and widows—checking in, offering rides when needed, and ensuring they continue to feel part of our Masonic family. These are just a few areas where your involvement can truly matter.
